Rifle Case Backpack: When Your Hands Need to Stay Free

A rifle case backpack is the choice for those who have to not only transport a firearm by car but also carry it on foot: to a firing position, a shooting range or hunting grounds. The straps shift the weight onto your shoulders, so your hands stay free for other gear. If the firearm mostly rides in the trunk, simpler models will do, such as standard gun cases.

Which Length and Capacity to Choose

Go by the internal size, not the external one. The R.I.P. 90 cm has external dimensions of 90×36×14 cm and internal dimensions of 87×33×10 cm. So the firearm, together with everything mounted on it, must fit within 87 cm. The volume is 29 L, and the empty case weighs 2240 g. Two compartments and a removable soft divider let you carry different types of firearms so the items do not rub against each other.

The Hunter Light 100 cm measures 1000×350×60 mm and weighs 2350 g. It holds two AK rifles or two AR SBRs, or one lower and two upper AR receivers with optics. Such a case is useful if you take a primary and a backup firearm on a trip, or several upper receivers for different tasks.

How to Carry It and What to Attach on the Outside

The R.I.P. has a shoulder strap of 65–130 cm and a waist strap of 22–110 cm, so it can be carried as a backpack, on the waist or by hand. It is made of Oxford 1200D and has an external laser-cut MOLLE panel for pouches and a pocket for ballistic protection. Colors: coyote, black, multicam.

The Hunter Light is made of Cordura 1000D. Its shoulder straps are stowed on the back and come out when you need to carry the case as a backpack. It has three external pockets, 4 rows of MOLLE and a Velcro panel for patches. Colors: multicam and pixel MM-14.
