Folding Camping Chair for Camp and Field Use

Folding chair for camping, the shooting range and camp

A folding chair is for anyone who sits in one place for a long time: at the shooting range between drills, while fishing, by the campfire. With a backrest, a few hours of rest are more comfortable than on a log or a crate. At the same time, the chair has to be carried somehow, so it is worth deciding right away how you will carry it: on your shoulder on foot or in a car trunk.

Lightweight or sturdy chair: what to choose for your outing

The main difference is in the frame and the fabric. The Helikon-Tex Traveler has an aluminum frame and Cordura 500D fabric; this model is rated at 1340 g in weight and a load of up to 150 kg. Such a chair makes sense when you have to walk to your resting place or your gear is already heavy.

The Skif Outdoor Comfort is made of steel and Oxford 600D fabric, with a stated load of up to 100 kg. Steel is heavier, but the armrests and cup holders make this camping chair comfortable for a camp next to the car, where weight matters less. The MFH Land Rover is a British-style field chair with armrests and a fabric seat.

What to check before buying

Choose a load capacity with a margin: add clothing and gear to your own weight, as well as the jolt when you sit down or stand up. On soft ground and sand, thin legs sink in, so it is better to put something under the supports on such a surface.

Pay attention to the small details that make life in the field easier. The Traveler has two mesh pockets for a bottle and a notebook, a hook-and-loop panel for patches on the backrest, and a bag with a shoulder strap. Color matters too: coyote, multicam or olive are less noticeable in nature, while gray and green look neat at an ordinary campsite.

A table, lanterns and a tent for your camp can be found in the camping gear category.

Frequently asked questions

Which folding chair is easier to carry on foot?

Prices range from 930 to 6 930 UAH. The cost depends on the frame and fabric materials and on extras such as pockets and armrests. We deliver across Ukraine.
