Multicam uniform: UBACS, jacket and trousers set
Multicam military uniform: how to choose a set
A Multicam uniform suits people who work in the field on mixed terrain. It is also chosen by those who want their clothing to match a plate carrier, pouches and a helmet cover, which are often made in this camouflage too. A set solves the main problem of Multicam: the difference in shades between individual items. Below we explain what to check in this kind of uniform so you don't end up overpaying or having to buy extra pieces.
Why Multicam from different manufacturers looks different
Many factories reproduce the Multicam pattern, so the shades differ noticeably: some fabrics have more green, others more brown or beige. The difference shows when the top and trousers are made from different batches, or when the uniform is combined with gear from another manufacturer. That is why a set in which all the pieces are made together is more reliable than a uniform assembled piece by piece. You will sometimes see the designation MTP in product names. It is the same Multicam, so there is no need to search for it separately.
The color also changes over time: camouflage fades in the sun and after washing, so a new item will look different next to an old one. If you need a spare set, buy two identical ones at once so they wear evenly. Also take a closer look at models where Multicam is combined with solid coyote or olive. This is visible from the name, for example in the short-sleeve Han Wild G2 versions. Before buying, check the photos to see which part is solid-colored.
What is included in a set and what you will have to buy separately
The basic option is a UBACS and trousers, sometimes with a baseball cap or a boonie hat in the same camouflage. Extended sets also include an M-65 jacket or parka, an insulated jacket or a softshell, and some come with a belt, elbow pads and even boots. Accessories in a set are convenient because their shades match. However, boots in a set are worth taking only if their size and model really suit you, otherwise you pay for an item you won't wear.
In complex sets, individual items can come from different manufacturers. For example, the Godzilla set with an M-65 parka is listed as including Idogear trousers and a Han Wild UBACS. Size charts in such cases do not always match, so check your measurements against the size table for each item, not just for the set as a whole.
Where Multicam is appropriate and where to consider another camouflage
Multicam was designed as a universal camouflage, so it works well on mixed terrain: in autumn forest, steppe, fields and built-up areas. In dense summer greenery or on snow it conceals worse than specialized patterns. A Multicam uniform is also appropriate for airsoft and training exercises. In the city, however, it draws attention when worn every day.
If you are looking for a Multicam uniform for the Ukrainian Armed Forces for service, first check your unit's uniform requirements. Where they are enforced, a different camouflage or a specific cut may be required. Some models have the word "regulation" in the name, but whether Multicam is permitted in your particular unit is decided by the command. If this camouflage doesn't suit you, browse all military uniforms in other camouflage patterns.
Frequently asked questions
Are MTP and Multicam the same thing?
Yes, in product names MTP is used as a synonym for Multicam. Both designations refer to the same multi-tone camouflage. However, the shade can still differ between manufacturers, so compare the photos.
Can a Multicam uniform be worn as regulation?
It depends on the requirements of your unit, so check them before buying. If you need a regulation uniform specifically, choose models with that word in the name and check the cut against your command's requirements.
How much does a Multicam uniform cost?
Prices range from 1 890 to 9 130 UAH. The cost depends primarily on the number of items in the set and on whether it includes an insulated jacket. We deliver across Ukraine.
