Esdy: Tactical Clothing and Quick-Lace Footwear

With Esdy you can build a complete layering system for duty and field trips: thermal underwear, a UBACS shirt, a fleece jacket and a softshell on top. The brand also stands out for tactical footwear with a rotary quick-lace system that tightens in a few seconds with a turn of the dial.

How to Layer Esdy Clothing for the Weather

Your base layer in the cold is Esdy thermal underwear. The Compression line fits snugly and wicks sweat during active movement, while microfleece and fleece-lined sets are warmer and suit cold days when you barely move. In hot weather, swap it for a perforated compression T-shirt or a short-sleeve UBACS.

Layer two is a fleece jacket. Lightweight fleeces work for spring and autumn, hooded fleeces in 280 and 300 g/m² are warm enough on their own, and hybrid fleeces with softshell panels on the shoulders and elbows handle pack-strap abrasion better. On damp days, add a softshell on top: a 5.0 jacket or suit with fleece lining and a hood that stows in the collar.

UBACS Under Body Armor: What to Check

Esdy UBACS shirts pair denser fabric on the sleeves and shoulders with a mesh panel on the chest and stomach, venting exactly the area covered by the plate. Raglan sleeves keep the fabric from riding up when you raise your arms, and the mesh-trimmed collar does not chafe your neck. The sleeves carry 4×5-inch velcro panels for patches.

The shirt hugs the body like an athletic tee, so it lies flat under a plate carrier. Take your usual size: an oversized one forms extra folds under a vest. For hot weather, there are short-sleeve Frog and CoolPass versions.

Choosing the Right Quick-Lace System

On boots with a center quick-lace, a dial on the tongue pulls the cable evenly across the instep, and some models keep regular laces alongside for a finer fit. The side quick-lace has its dial on the side of the boot, while the MK2 gets a BOA-type rotary dial and textured side overlays that protect against scuffing.

Among tactical sneakers, mesh pairs breathe better in summer, mesh-free models let in less dust, and composite-toe sneakers protect your toes from impact. Try footwear on with the socks you will actually wear, and after muddy outings rinse the mechanism with water and dry the pair away from radiators.
