M-Tac
M-Tac: Ukrainian Tactical Clothing and Footwear
The Ukrainian brand M-Tac makes gear for duty, the shooting range, hiking and everyday wear in the city. It covers light summer footwear, ripstop pants with added stretch and a full layering system for the cold season, from T-shirts to jackets insulated with PrimaLoft.
Which Sneakers to Pick for Summer and the Shoulder Seasons
For hot weather, go for low-cut models with a textile upper: Summer Light and Summer Sport with perforation, Summer Pro with a dense weave that keeps sand and dust out, and Iva with breathable mesh and a memory foam insole. Shooter and Caiman have a chunkier sole with an aggressive tread and overlays on the toe and heel, so they grip better on dirt and wet cobblestones.
The demi-season models with a membrane lining and a suede and CORDURA upper are made for wet weather. Iva, Summer Light and Summer Sport have a unisex fit, so M-Tac tactical sneakers work for both men and women.
Pants for Every Season
Aggressor Gen II has seven pockets, hidden knee pad slots, D-rings for gear and a tunnel waistband for a tactical belt. The Flex versions add elastane and a Teflon finish to the ripstop: the fabric stretches when you squat, while water and dirt bead up on the surface. The Flex line continues with Conquistador Gen I Flex and Patriot Gen II Flex, and Aggressor Lady is cut for women.
For winter, there are insulated Soft Shell Winter pants: the dense softshell blocks wind, and the inner layer wicks moisture away. With colors from Multicam and Pixel to black and dark navy, M-Tac tactical pants suit both a field uniform and city wear.
How to Build a Layering System
- Base layer: M-Tac T-shirts from the 93/7 line, named after the fabric blend of 93% cotton and 7% elastane. The fitted cut does not bunch up under a plate carrier; if you prefer a looser fit, size up.
- Mid layer: M-Tac fleece jackets such as the Alpha Microfleece Gen.II, plus the Windblock Division Gen.II fleece jacket, which also works as an outer layer in dry weather.
- Outer layer: softshell jackets for spring and fall, the lightweight Flash windbreaker with a hood that tucks into the collar, and the Stalker Gen.III, Jarl and Alpha Basic insulated with PrimaLoft.
