Winter Pixel Bushlat for the ZSU: Fur, Fleece and Synthetic Fill
Winter Pixel Bushlat: How to Choose for Your Duty
A bushlat in MM-14 pixel is for anyone who needs a warm outer layer matching the ZSU field uniform: for a post, a shift or outdoor work. The camouflage is the same on every model, so all the difference lies in the insulation and the outer fabric. At prices from 1 680 to 3 730 UAH, you are paying for the insulation, fabric and cut details. If color doesn't matter, browse all winter bushlats. And if you move more than you stand, look at lighter pixel winter jackets.
Fur, Fleece or Synthetic Fill with Omni-Heat
A pixel bushlat with fur is the softest and most pleasant to the touch, so it suits standing still. But wet fur dries slowly. A pixel bushlat with removable fur is more practical: unzip the liner in a thaw and dry it separately after a wet shift. A fleece model is lighter and breathes better, so it is for those who walk a lot and work with their hands. Fleece is often the lining over synthetic fill, and then the warmth lasts for longer standing too.
The Hoverla double-zip bushlat jacket combines synthetic fill with an Omni-Heat reflective lining. This option is built for long standing in the cold. If Omni-Heat is stated without any fill, plan on warm layers under the bushlat.
Outer Fabric and Whether Pixel Fades
Ripstop with reinforced weave doesn't tear from a small puncture, so it is the most reliable in the field. Oxford is denser and holds wet snow better, but it rustles. Twill, cotton and raincoat fabric are quieter and softer, but absorb water faster. Models marked "regulation" and the KVVZ + UKVVZ new-pattern set are worth choosing when you need the official look.
On synthetics the print lasts longer, while on cotton fabrics it lightens over time from sun and washing. To keep pixel from fading, wash the bushlat inside out and dry it in the shade.
Size for Body Armor and the Hood
Sizes are marked with both letters and numbers. A mark like 56/4 also means height, so check both parameters; large sizes come in battal models. If you wear body armor under the bushlat, measure with it on. The zipper should close without strain, and the hem shouldn't ride up when you bend. Wearing a plate carrier over the bushlat? Then take your usual size, since extra bulk only gets in the way.
Every model has a hood. A removable one with drawcords is more convenient under a helmet. The double zip lets you open the bottom when you get into a car.
