What It Is For

Use the axe to chop dry wood and thin logs for a fire and the poll to drive tent pegs, and the saw to cut branches where chopping is awkward or noisy. The fire starter sparks even after rain, when matches will not help, and the whistle lets you signal your group.

Carrying

The sheath covers the blade and holds on with a clip, so you can hang the axe on a belt, chest rig or the side strap of a backpack. The handle on the sheath lets you remove it quickly. The paracord lanyard keeps the axe from slipping out of your hand while you work, and the saw in the handle always stays in place instead of getting lost in your pack.

Care

After use, wipe resin and moisture off the blade and apply a little oil to prevent rust. Store the axe dry in its sheath and touch up the edge with a whetstone from time to time.
