When the route goes through deep snow and temperatures stay below zero, you want to be confident with every step. Garmont Trace Mid Boa GTX in olive color is a mid-cut boot designed specifically for such conditions: moisture, slush, cold and uneven terrain.
First of all - for those who go on winter and off-season routes: snow hiking, forest trails in frost, mountainous terrain with icy sections. The mid-cut construction supports the ankle, which is especially noticeable on uneven terrain or during descents. They are also suitable for tactical use in cold weather - rigid protection of the toe and heel, massive sole with large lugs withstand serious loads.
The upper is combined: textile insert with fine textured weave in the central part, synthetic overlays around the perimeter. On the toe - dark green rubber protective overlay with TPU reinforcement, on the heel - massive rubber overlay with horizontal ribs and microfiber. Inside - GORE-TEX® membrane that doesn't let water in from outside but wicks moisture from inside. There is internal insulation for cold conditions.
The sole is mustard-yellow with a dark green intermediate section - large protruding studs provide grip on snow, ice and slippery surfaces. The olive-green upper is complemented by mustard-yellow accents on the sole, logo and decorative elements - the combination looks restrained but recognizable.
The main difference is the BOA® Fit System closure instead of traditional laces. The rotary dial at the top of the boot allows you to tighten or loosen the fit with one hand without removing your gloves. Pressure is distributed evenly across the entire foot - without pinching or weak spots. Additional loops and hooks in the middle section keep the heel in place even during intense movement. The weight of one boot is about 540 g, which is a good indicator for a winter model with such protection characteristics.
