The Helikon-Tex Yukon Winter Jacket is built around Climashield Apex 67 g/m² insulation, which retains heat even when wet - which is why NATO armies choose this material for equipping in harsh winter conditions. The outer Duracanvas fabric - 100% cotton with wax coating - looks dense and matte, without unnecessary gloss, and at the same time repels moisture, dampens wind and is resistant to sparks.
Wearing: compatibility with equipment and clothing layers
The jacket is designed to be worn over a fleece or thermal layer. The raglan sleeve cut, visible in the photo by the shoulder seam line, does not conflict with backpack straps or body armor. A large structured hood with drawstring adjustment sits easily over a ballistic helmet or winter balaclava. Cuffs with adjustable straps secure over gloves without letting cold air in. A velcro panel on the left sleeve allows you to place a unit chevron or patch.
